Your credit union is going GREEN!

In an effort to contribute to our planet’s well-being and provide a more efficient work environment, Harbor Federal Credit Union is in the process of going paperless. By going paperless our membership will benefit significantly in the years to come by providing a cost-effective and secure method of information retention.

Within the next year HFCU will be making the shift from paper forms and documents to more secure and efficient electronic ones. We have recently chosen the vendor that will interface with our operating system, making for a smooth transition. The contract has been drawn up and the next step is in motion.

No major changes will be evident to you, the member, but behind the scenes going paperless will allow for a smoother workflow. As a member you might notice signature pads, ID scanners and other minor signs of the shift to paperless, but in general the transition will be seamless.

Your credit union is moving forward. Keeping the future in mind, HFCU is doing it’s part to be environmentally responsible. HFCU has been promoting a green culture since the inception of its E-statement product about 3 years ago. By switching your paper statements to electronic statements, you not only save trees but also the expense of having to create and mail the statements out. That expense could be given back to members in the form of better dividend earnings and/or better loan rates. It’s a win-win situation.

September 2008- Hardware being ordered.
